Rejuvenation, removal of skin wrinkles with HIFU facial
Aging is an undeniable and unavoidable fact in all of our lives. With age, various physical changes appear in the body. One of the first changes that we all quickly notice is skin changes. The main reason for the changes that occur in the skin is the decrease in the production of collagen and elastin proteins.
Fortunately, there are many ways to rejuvenate and restore the freshness of the skin, and these methods are being improved and updated day by day. HIFU is one of the most effective and safe ways to rejuvenate the skin.
What is HIFU?
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) was used in the past to treat cancerous tumors, and in 2008, its first applications in the beauty industry were reported. After that, HIFU was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for eyebrow lift in 2009. Finally, HIFU was approved by the FDA in 2014 to improve and remove skin wrinkles.
The HIFU device centrally injects ultrasound waves into the layer of skin that is located below the surface layer and stimulates collagen production, and this process leads to skin tightening. To explain the mechanism of the effect of HIFU, it is necessary to give a brief explanation about the layers of the skin. Between the lower layer of the skin (hypoderm) and the rectus abdominis muscle, there is a layer called SMAS, which is made of soft tissue and connects the skin and the muscle.
To create this layer, a group of connective fibers is stretched from the skin to the muscles, which merge with the fibers that exit from the muscle to the skin. The fusion of these fibers forms a mesh-like connective tissue called the SMAS layer. It causes the transmission of muscle contractions. Paying attention to this SMAS tissue determines its key role in lifting treatments.
